Before you read: These are my experiences and my understanding of the events. The screenshots document parts of the conversations, but they do not independently prove everything that happened before those conversations. Names and private details of people who are not central to this account have been left out.
01 / What happened
The story
One afternoon, Willem and I were watching TV and drinking. During that time, he told me something that bothered me. He said that, while a woman he knew was away returning an animal she had been pet-sitting, he took her underwear without her knowledge and used it sexually.
That is what he told me. I did not witness the incident myself. I am not claiming that I did.
The conversation did not end that afternoon. Over the following week, I spoke with him more about what he had told me. We talked about why he had not told her, what it meant to cross someone’s boundaries, and why he was still pursuing a relationship with her. Some of those follow-up conversations happened when I was no longer drinking.
At first, I tried to leave it alone. Eventually, I decided to warn the woman privately. My reason was simple: if someone told me they had done that with another person’s belongings, I believed the person affected deserved to know what had been said.
My understanding is that she initially expressed that the conduct was wrong and indicated she would cut contact. I also understand that she later disputed that position. Those conversations are not independently established by the screenshots shown on this page, so I am not presenting either reaction as settled fact.
02 / Sequence
How it unfolded
Before September 11, 2024 · In-person disclosure
Willem told me about alleged conduct involving a woman's belongings. The exact date of this conversation is not established by the screenshots. This is my recollection, not a recording.
September 11, 2024 · 1:15–8:34 PM
The messages first show us discussing plans to hang out at 1:15 PM. At 7:54 PM I asked about being treated differently when making plans with Anna. The conversation then moved to how he treated both of us. At 8:30 PM I explicitly said I would stay out of the Anna situation. At 8:32 PM, Serazel said he might tell her himself. See these timestamped messages
September 11, 2024 · Later evening (through 9:06 PM)
Later that evening, Serazel continued discussing whether Anna should be told and described his feelings toward her. The messages do not show that I contacted Anna that day.
September 12, 2024 · 10:45 AM–2:15 PM
He apologized for the previous day at 10:45 AM. At 1:50 PM he asked whether I was upset; at 1:58 PM I said I felt disappointed. At 2:40 PM I questioned the boundaries involved and his continued pursuit of a relationship. At 2:41 PM he responded by referring to what he had done to her. See the dated messages.
September 12, 2024 · 2:49–3:39 PM
The conversation continued about responsibility, his feelings, and boundaries. At 3:09 PM, he said he had written to Anna about moving on romantically. At 3:39 PM, he asked that I stop weighing in on decisions he said did not directly involve me. See the dated messages.
September 12, 2024 · 3:41–4:05 PM
I challenged the distinction between ordinary mistakes and the conduct we had discussed. At 3:43 PM, I explicitly said I was leaving the matter alone at that point. At 3:44 PM, he said he regretted having told me. Later messages discussed his disclosure and our disagreement. These messages do not show that I had warned her by that afternoon. See the dated messages.
Following days · Continuing conversations
My account is that the issue developed over approximately a week rather than in a single exchange. The warning is now documented on September 13, while dates for some later group conversations still need verification.
Friday, September 13, 2024 · 12:18 PM — I warned Anna privately
I sent Anna a Discord message explaining what Willem had told me about alleged conduct involving her belongings. The screenshot shows what I reported to her, not independent verification of the underlying allegation. See the original message.
September 13 · 4:28 PM — Anna replied
Anna texted that she had received and read my Discord message. She thanked me for bringing it to her attention, asked that I not tell Willem she had spoken to me, and said she would reconsider their friendship. See her response.
September 13 · 6:32 PM — Anna reported blocking Willem
In a later text, Anna said she had removed and blocked him, and thanked me for telling her. This documents what she told me at the time, not the status of their relationship afterward. See the dated text.
Date not yet confirmed · Group dispute and reactions
Later group messages and responses show a dispute about why I shared the information and how it was discussed with others. The dates of those specific messages should be added when their on-screen timestamps can be verified. See earlier exhibits.
Date labels distinguish dates printed in a message from file metadata. “Today” is relative to when a screenshot was captured. Dates are not inferred from filenames or upload times.

The messages document what was written in the conversation, not independent proof of the underlying alleged conduct. The week-long sequence beyond September 12 remains partially undated.
03 / My reasons
What I mean by “crossing boundaries”
When I use the phrase “crossing boundaries,” I mean allegedly handling someone's private, intimate belongings without their knowledge or permission. In the account Willem gave me, that meant going through Anna’s underwear while she was away. This is about privacy and consent—not an ordinary disagreement between friends.
I learned about the alleged conduct from what Willem told me. I did not witness it myself. The messages show what he said afterward and what I reported to Anna; they do not independently establish every detail of the underlying event.
Why I spoke up
I did not think this was a normal secret to keep. It involved another person’s belongings and boundaries. If the account he gave me was accurate, she was the person affected.
I told her because I thought she should have the information and decide for herself what to do with it. That is different from trying to make that decision for her.
I understand that others disagree with how I handled it, and I am not asking people to take my word as proof of the underlying incident. I am explaining why I acted and showing the conversations I can document.
04 / The person involved
Who I’m referring to
Name clarification: Willem and “Serazel” refer to the same person in this account. Serazel is the username used in the Discord messages.
The person I am talking about is Willem, who used the name Serazel in our Discord conversations. We knew each other socially through overlapping interests and people in the local gaming community.
His own messages refer to “what I did,” regret over telling me, and a belief that his conduct had consequences. They are important context. They are not a recording of the original event or a complete written description of the alleged incident.
05 / Evidence and limits
What the screenshots show
What I can point to
Willem responded to my concerns about crossing the woman’s boundaries.
He wrote that he regretted telling me what he had done.
He acknowledged my position before later criticizing my expectations.
The follow-up messages show disputes over sharing the information and over whether I should have spoken up.
What they cannot establish on their own
That the alleged underlying incident occurred exactly as he described it to me.
Every word of our original in-person conversation.
What the woman privately believed or ultimately decided.
Whether any party’s conduct meets a legal definition or satisfies a legal claim.
The screenshots are provided so readers can distinguish what I remember from what is written down.
06 / After I spoke up
The reaction
The argument changed quickly. Instead of only discussing what I had been told, people asked why I brought it up and why I would share something that had been told to me in confidence.
A family member wrote “In confidence” in response to my explanation. A member of our shared circle asked “why now,” said they had known Willem longer, and eventually told me to leave them alone. I am including those exchanges because they help explain how the disagreement unfolded, not because knowing someone for longer proves anything about the original allegation.
One of my messages in the group discussion says that I did not want to tell everyone; I wanted to tell the person I believed had been affected. That is the distinction I have been trying to make.

08 / Final word
Where I stand
I stand by my account of what Willem told me, my reason for telling her, and the messages I have kept. I am not asking anyone to harass him or anyone else. I want people to understand the difference between what I was told, what I personally did, and what I can show in writing.
I believe I had good reason to contact her. People can disagree with that choice. But the discussion should be about what happened and what the evidence actually says—not a story that makes the person who raised the concern the entire issue.
